Current Railway Stations:

  1. All major Railway Stations like Kanpur, Lucknow, Udaipur etc. are either in very poor condition or some of them already broken.
  2. These Stations looks very bad when any foreigner comes to India and tries to catch Trains.
  3. These Stations doesn't have any modern facilities like Lift or Wi-Fi or CCTV.
  4. Tracks of these Stations are very old technology and also limit the number of tracks we can have.
  5. If these Stations are not renovated soon, it may create huge accidents and also to accomodate new modern Railway Tracks, these Stations needs to be extended.

Current Trains:

  1. Slow Speed : If anyone wants to travel from Lucknow to Bengaluru or Hyderabad, it takes almost 2 days of journey which is very very slow.
  2. Poor Condition: Current old Trains doesn't have proper clean toilets and also doesn't have facilities like Wi-Fi or CCTV.
  3. Delay : Since currently India is using old railway tracks with only 1-2 lines, trains are mostly delayed as some trains have to be stooped in between to give path for few super fast trains.

Why IT or Professional class people don't prefer to travel in current Train?

Since last 2-3 decades Indian population have grown very huge and it's very difficult to find seats in train when we want to travel. Trains are always full. Besides that current Trains are very old and very slow.

A very huge class of people have stopped taking trains for below few reasons:

  1. Slow Speed : If anyone wants to travel from Lucknow to Bengaluru or Hyderabad, it takes almost 2 days of journey which is very very slow. IT or Professional class people don't want to spend 2 days just travelling in Trains because it's huge time loss for them.
  2. Poor Condition: These Trains doesn't have proper clean toilets and also doesn't have facilities like Wi-Fi or CCTV. IT or Professional class people generally prefer to work on their laptop and also wants good hygienic toilets for them and their family members.

So, these people prefer Flight over Trains. This is a huge loss to government as flight money goes to airline private companies.

If somehow government can provide high speed trains like Vande Bharat Express which travel Lucknow to Bengaluru or Hyderabad in just 12-14 hours with price 4000-5000 Rupees, around 30-40% of these IT or Professional class people would like to travel in Vande Bharat Express instead of Flight as now flight cost have increased upto 7000-9000 per ticket.

This will give a great boost to Indian Railways as it will generate huge profit for Railways.

Why to Renovate the Railway Stations?

Whenever we visit Singapore, USA and European countries, we witness a highly modern Railway and Train Stations which have all modern facilities like Lift or Wi-Fi or CCTV. It attracts of a lot of tourists across the world and it generates a lot of revenue for government.

It serves multiple purpose for a Nation:

Women Security : Since these Train Stations are equipped with Lift or Wi-Fi or CCTV, women crimes are very less because there is 24x7 monitoring and in case if anyone needs any help, it can be easily provided faster.

Citizen Comfort : Modern Railway Stations will be able to serve more passengers and also provide them more comfortable journey. More space will create safe environment for passengers and also it will create safety due to CCTV.

More Space and Better Tracks : Modern Railway Stations will be able to replace old tracks with new tracks which can provide better speed to Trains.

Vande Bharat is not able to achieve it's full speed because of old Railway Tracks. Once these Tracks are replaced, it will open huge opportunity for India to achieve more high speed trains which may even run at 300-400 KM Per Hour speed.

Revenue Generation to Railways : Suppose if 10 Million IT or Professional class people travel from Lucknow to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune & Mumbai via Flight in a Year.

Now Government provided high speed trains like Vande Bharat Express which travel from Lucknow to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune & Mumbai in just 10-12 hours with ticket price of 5,000 INR.

If suppose 30% of these IT or Professional class people (3 Million) started traveling in Vande Bharat Express instead of Flight.

Revenue generation to Railway : 3,000,000 * 5,000 = 1500 Crores Per Year
